1. Your SolarEdge inverter Records site energy
  2. Your SolarEdge account Stores the readings
  3. Wattlas Brings energy data and tariff prices together
The arrows show data, not electricity. Your equipment settings stay in SolarEdge.

What does a SolarEdge connection add?

Solar generation
Your site's recorded solar output in the Wattlas energy view, in 15-minute steps.
Home, grid and battery
With a SolarEdge energy meter: what your home used, grid import and export, and battery charge and discharge.
Other energy sources
Connect a compatible charger or supplier to view its readings alongside solar.

Without a SolarEdge energy meter, SolarEdge only records solar, so Wattlas shows solar alone rather than estimating the rest. Wattlas reads a whole day once a day, and again when you open the app, at most every 30 minutes. SolarEdge charges each request against a monthly allowance.

Compare Wattlas and mySolarEdge or estimate an array's annual generation.

What you'll need

Connecting this account requires Wattlas Plus.

  • The SolarEdge account you use for the mySolarEdge app
  • Nothing to copy - you sign in on SolarEdge's own page, and Wattlas never sees your password
  • About a minute

Sign in with SolarEdge

  1. Open Setup → Inverter in Wattlas

Tap the gear icon top-left of the app, then the plug icon for the Inverter tab, and pick SolarEdge from the dropdown.

  2. Select Connect with SolarEdge

Wattlas sends you to SolarEdge's own sign-in page. The example below shows the button, not a screenshot of a connected account.

    Connect SolarEdge

How this works: clicking below takes you to SolarEdge to sign in with your SolarEdge account and approve Wattlas, then brings you back here.
    Connect with SolarEdge
  3. Sign in and approve Wattlas

Sign in with the account you use for the mySolarEdge app. SolarEdge shows what Wattlas is asking to read: your site's details and energy, and readings from your inverter, battery and meters. Select Approve and SolarEdge brings you back to Wattlas, connected.

Wattlas only ever reads. The access you approve is read-only - Wattlas can't change inverter settings or control a SolarEdge EV charger. That stays entirely in SolarEdge's own app, same as before you connected Wattlas.

Common questions

Keep using SolarEdge for device settings. Wattlas can show its energy readings with a compatible tariff and charger. Compare what each view is for.

What if I do not have a SolarEdge login?

You need the account you use for the mySolarEdge app. If your installer never set one up for you, ask them or SolarEdge support for access to your own site. Wattlas cannot create a SolarEdge account for you.

How do I stop Wattlas reading my SolarEdge data?

Select Disconnect in Wattlas's Setup → Inverter tab, which also withdraws Wattlas's access at SolarEdge. You can also remove Wattlas from the integrations page in your SolarEdge account.

I used a SolarEdge API key before. Does it still work?

No. SolarEdge is retiring site API keys on 1 November 2026. Select Connect with SolarEdge in Setup and sign in instead.

Can Wattlas control my SolarEdge inverter or its EV charger?

No. Wattlas only asks SolarEdge for read access - it can't change inverter settings or control a SolarEdge EV charger. That stays in SolarEdge's own app.
