What does Wattlas actually do?

It compares your solar and battery system's real generation and usage against its own forecast, and tells you the moment the two drift apart. Free builds that forecast from your system's spec and live weather. Plus adds a live read of your own inverter, energy supplier, and EV charger, so the comparison is against what actually happened, not just an estimate.

Do I need to connect anything to use it?

No. Free needs no connection at all — just your system's details (panel capacity, orientation, tilt) and a live weather forecast. Connecting your inverter, energy supplier, or EV charger is entirely optional, and only unlocks Plus's real-generation comparison.

What's the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the forecast: expected generation and a rough payback estimate, from your system spec and the weather alone. Plus adds the real thing on top — actual generation vs estimate day by day, alerts when something underperforms, self-sufficiency, a real cost breakdown from your own tariff, and EV charging attribution.

How much does Plus cost, and can I cancel anytime?

£1.76/month Free for 3 months - no card is needed to use Free, or to start Plus's trial. Plus is managed through its own billing portal inside the app — upgrade, change, or cancel yourself any time, no ticket or phone call needed.

Which inverters and batteries are supported?

SolarEdge, GivEnergy (Cloud or local GivTCP), and Tesla Powerwall today. Enphase support is coming soon.

Which EV chargers are supported?

myenergi Zappi, Ohme, Hypervolt, and Easee. Setup also asks where your charger is wired relative to your battery, so charging energy is attributed correctly either way — even when your charger and inverter don't talk to each other.

Which energy supplier does the cost breakdown use?

Connect your Octopus Energy, EDF Energy or E.ON Next account and Wattlas finds your tariff and standing charge automatically. On any other supplier, you can enter your own flat rate in Setup — the cost breakdown works the same way either way.

Is Wattlas affiliated with GivEnergy or any inverter manufacturer?

No. It's built and run independently of every manufacturer it connects to. That's deliberate: your generation history, forecasts, and alerts should still be there for you regardless of what happens to any single manufacturer's own app.

GivEnergy went into administration - does that affect Wattlas?

No, and that's the point of building independently. Wattlas isn't owned by, funded by, or reliant on GivEnergy - Free's forecast needs no GivEnergy connection at all, and your Wattlas account, history, and price stay the same regardless of what happens to GivEnergy as a company. Plus's live comparison still connects through your own GivEnergy Cloud account today, the same way any third-party app reads any API. See what changed for GivEnergy owners for the full picture.

Is my data shared with anyone else?

No. Your inverter, supplier, and charger details are used only to fetch your own account's data on your behalf, and are never shared with any third party.

Does it work if I don't have a battery, EV, or charger?

Yes. Every section that depends on something you haven't connected simply doesn't appear — there's no requirement to have the full setup for the rest of it to work.
