Wattlas exists to answer one question honestly: is your solar and battery system doing what it's supposed to? Not what a spec sheet promised, not whatever a single manufacturer's own app happens to say — a plain comparison between what your system was forecast to generate and what it actually did, with an alert the moment the two drift apart.
It's built independently of any inverter, battery, or charger manufacturer — no manufacturer owns it, funds it, or has any say in what it tells you. Plus does read your own inverter, energy supplier, and EV charger accounts directly, the same way any third-party app reads any API: never a shared connection, and never anyone else's data but yours. To be precise about what that independence actually buys you: your account, your history, and Free's forecast don't depend on any manufacturer staying in business. Plus's live read of a given connection is only ever as reliable as that manufacturer's own API — if one of them changes or shuts theirs down, the live comparison for that connection stops until (or unless) we can rebuild it against whatever replaces it.
