What Wattlas is
Wattlas is an independent grid-intelligence publisher for Europe. We produce weekly, source-backed analysis of grid capacity for the teams making site, project and investment decisions: developers, investors, lenders, suppliers and advisors.
What we track
Wattlas tracks grid capacity, congestion, connection constraints, planned reinforcements and capacity-change signals. The first live region is Brainport (Eindhoven, Helmond and the surrounding service areas). Coverage expands region by region, only where source quality is strong enough.
How we work
Grid capacity data in the Netherlands is published across dozens of separate sources, in Dutch, updated on different schedules and at different levels of detail. Wattlas combines these official sources into one readable format: a source log for every figure, and snapshots over time so change is visible, not only the current status. The interpretation is in English; the original source names, grid operators and official document titles are kept as published, so every claim stays traceable back to its source.
Verification
Not every figure carries the same weight, and Wattlas is explicit about that distinction on every area and station rather than presenting one blended color. Verified data comes from an official congestion study, traceable to a dated report with underlying MW figures. Map-export data comes from the official capacity map status, without those underlying figures. Both are useful. They are not the same thing.
What Wattlas is not
Wattlas is not legal advice, not connection advice, and not a real-time grid operations feed. Wattlas does not guarantee capacity or availability for any specific connection or project. Whether power is actually available for a given application is determined by the grid operator's own technical assessment, not by this analysis.
