What you'll need

Connecting this account requires Wattlas Plus.

  • An E.ON Next electricity account
  • The email and password you use for your E.ON Next account, and your account number (e.g. A-1234ABCD, shown on your bills)
  • About 2 minutes

Connect it in Wattlas

  1. Open Setup → Tariff in Wattlas

Tap the gear icon top-left of the app, then the receipt icon for the Tariff tab. Choose I'm on E.ON Next from the list and tap Connect account.

Setting up for the first time? The setup wizard asks “How are you charged for energy?” - pick I'm on E.ON Next there and the same form appears.

  2. Sign in with your E.ON login

This is the form you'll see:

    Connect your E.ON Next account

Auto-detects your current tariff, using E.ON Next's public rate data - on top of whatever inverter you've connected above.
    Email
    you@example.com
    Password
    Password
The same login you use for your E.ON Next account - used once to get an API key, never stored. This issues a fresh key, so any key you've used elsewhere (another app, E.ON support) will stop working. I already have an API key
    Account number
    e.g. A-1234ABCD
    Connect account
  3. That's it

Wattlas finds your current tariff and fills in your standing charge. After that, Setup shows your E.ON API key, hidden until you tap Show, in case you want to use it in another app too.

What about free days?

Free days written into your E.ON Next tariff are picked up automatically. Wattlas checks your tariff once a day, shows each free day in the Provider tab, prices your import at £0 for it, and reminds you at 9am on the day.

E.ON doesn't share every offer this way. If you're told about one that isn't on your tariff, tap Add a free session in the Provider tab.

Wattlas only ever reads. Your password is used once to get an API key and is never stored. Wattlas has no write access to your E.ON Next account - it can't switch your tariff, make payments, or change any setting. Disconnecting deletes the stored API key and everything cached alongside it (meter, detected tariff) from our database.

Common questions

Why does Wattlas ask for my E.ON Next password?

Wattlas uses your login once to create an API key for you, then forgets the password - only the key is stored. If E.ON support has already given you a key, tap "I already have an API key" and use that instead.

Will connecting stop another app that uses my E.ON key?

It can. Signing in creates a fresh key, so any key you've used elsewhere stops working. Once you're connected, Setup shows your new key (hidden until you tap Show) so you can paste it into the other app.

Do I need to tell Wattlas about my free days?

Not if they're part of your tariff - those are found automatically. Only offers E.ON tells you about separately need adding by hand, in the Provider tab.

Can Wattlas switch my tariff or change anything on my E.ON Next account?

No. Wattlas only ever reads from your E.ON Next account - it can't switch tariffs, make payments, or change any setting. Disconnecting deletes the stored API key and everything cached alongside it.
